this cover is not worth the time or money i spent on it. the case doesnt fit right and the top sleep button on the top of my ipod touch wont work with the case on. dont buy this case if you intend on acctualy plan on using you ipod. its worthless
I had this case for the first gen iPhone and it was awesome. I bought this one from their website for $28 (with coupon code: special25) before it was available on Amazon.
It has a plastic frame that covers the front of the iPod, and then the iPod and frame is slid into the the case. The sleep button doesn’t work with the case on unless I remove that plastic frame. But that makes the case looser on the iPod. To make matters worse, the case or the frame press the sleep button randomly, and I keep getting the “Slide to power off” screen.
The case doesn’t fit into the belt clip frame as securely as the iPhone case did. I would not carry my iPod like this for fear of losing it.
All the other Speck cases I have or had are hands-down awesome, but avoid this product unless they make changes to it.
This is not my First Speck Ipod Case, they problem its same, Cheap and bad design.
This is a 3 Piece design, the clip kept coming off, I had to use a robber band and crazy glue to keep it from falling off. My friend had the First Gen, it well made, but the 2nd Gen, its just cheap plastics. Yes, its that bad. The robber case does protect the Itouch, but Silicon is a dust magnet.
I went through the Brand Twice, I would not recommend anyone get this.
This review may be a moot point since it is my understanding that Speck no longer makes this item.
That being said, there is a reason it was discontinued. The idea is great, but poorly executed.
First, there is a flimsy plastic piece that goes in front of the iPod that was broken when I received the item. When I say flimsy, I mean about as durable as the little frames that the individual pieces of plastic models come attached to. The purpose of this item is unclear, but it may be to make the whole unit more rigid. Without even testing it, anyone who uses these types of electronics would know that it would be the first thing to fail.
I tried the rubber case on with and without this piece and it holds the power button down constantly.
I tried to put the screen protector sheet on, but much to my dismay, the manufacturer had placed a permanent sticker on its surface that left a sticky residue that I could not remove.
Needless to say it is completely unusable and I am attempting to return it.
Please, don’t waste your money.
When I bought this case, I immediately took off the belt clip. ( Those don’t exactly work well for guys with a belly like me anyhow. )If your like me, and you keep your cell phone in your pockets be a warned. Every time you pull it out your pockets, the rubber will be covered with white lint, dust, whatever else is your pocket. After about 4 months it slowed down some but it still seems to show. Also, if your wearing sweat pants, expect it to get stuck in your pocket, as the rubber will cling to the fabric of your pants. I have dropped the phone many times and can honestly say, it WILL protect your phone ( I broke two other iphones, using other cases ) , but be aware of the side effects of it getting dusty, clingy. It also comes with probably one of the best thin screen protectors as an added bonus.
